Biography
I am a researcher in the field of behavioural and evolutionary ecology. My main interest is in studying animal responses to global changes such as climate change, habitat fragmentation and the introduction of exotic species. My research approach integrates both experimental and field studies with the aim of assessing the impact of environmental modifications on the phenotype (behavioural, morphological and physiological) and life-history traits of organisms. My study models are mainly amphibians and reptiles.
A better understanding of the response of species and their potential ability to adapt to global change can help us to predict the future of natural populations and possibly implement conservation measures. As Director of the Station Scientifique des Hautes Fagnes, my aim is to develop research projects on Fens species from a conservation biology perspective.
